IPG joined some of the UK's top clean tech investors and innovators last week at the first virtual edition of BusinessGreen Technology and Investment Forum, hosted in association with InnovateUK.
The one day event saw panel discussions around the positive impact of COVID-19 and lockdown on public and investor commitment to sustainability, and the scale of the opportunities for clean technology startups in helping the UK achieve those net-zero goals.
In the investor panel session, for example, Beverley Gower-Jones, managing partner at the Clean Growth Fund, identified industrial fuel switching technologies and the development of hydrogen as some of the key areas for innovation and investment, following the announcement of the government's 10 Point Plan for a Green Industrial Revolution.
These discussions were followed by pitches from eleven green technology start-ups, where IPG presented alongside the likes of Seamach Energy, who are innovating in wind turbine design to improve efficiencies, and RecycleEYE who are using machine learning and algorithm to improve recycling processes.
Toby Gill, CEO of IPG, discussed how we are reinventing fuel-based power for the renewable future with our Flameless Ceramic Turbine and our current £3m Series A fundraise.
As Cecilia Keating wrote in the event summary, “[l]ast week's webinar proved that there are no shortage of visionary ideas being cooked up by UK entrepreneurs eager to take advantage of investor and government support. For example … Toby Gill set out how flameless ceramic turbines developed by Intelligent Power Generation are aiming to provide companies with flameless, pollution-free combustion of all renewable fuel types.”
